Often in the general contracting process, an owner
will enlist the help of a consultant to formulate
plans and specifications. Once this process is
complete, they now need to locate a general
contractor to complete the work for them.
This procurement process can be completed through
tendering, or if a specific contractor is in mind,
through negotiations.
Either way, upon the owner's final decision, the
clear scope of work is established with the
contractor who then is contractually obligated to
complete that work at the quoted price. |
